What is search engine?

Search engine is a different type of software. Which provides us a service of easy seeking You can call it only Engine.Because, services are provided by any engine and a search engine provides us a service of seeking something on a huge platform,  called internet.

We know Google,yahoo,bing. But search engines have also various types and categories. You tube,facebook etc are also in it's species. But the difference between You  tube and Google that You tube only show results, based on video, whatever you searched for.

General Knowledge about Search engine

Again we know about world book named Facebook.It is basically a social media but it is also used as a search engine. Suppose, we search a name of a man.

So, Facebook will show the people related to that name. So we can also call it a search engine as it shows results like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex or another search engine.
If we try to say in a sentence,  what search engines actually are, so we will have like this-"Search engine is  a specialized software which shows us results of targeted keywords all over the internet."

There are three functions and they drive search engine as a wheel drive a car.

Yahoo

Bing

Known as Microsoft Bing, capable of 40 different languages, created and owned by Microsoft, lauched in June 2009.

It's Alexa ranking is 30th. It serves 4.1 billion people monthly by providing web, video, image and map.

Yandex

Yandex company was founded by Arkady Volozh, Arkady Borkovsky and Ilya Segalovich. But Yandex search engine was published by CompTek 23 years ago.

In 2015, it achieved 51.2% traffic from Russia region. According to Clever-Solution it is driving 92% recently. But it also used in Ukraine, China, Belarus, and Germany.

DuckDuckGo

Gabriel Weinberg lanuched DuckDuckGo in 2008, probably 12 years ago. In this October it is ranking 158th in Alexa.

It's tagline is Privacy-Simplified. DuckDuckGo doesn’t track or save of any user's search activities. It is serving mostly USA, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, and China Citizens.
